Dive the Bermuda Triangle

History, Mystery, Wrecks & Reefs Dive Clear, 75 degree water, enjoy all the colorful reef fish, stay in the sail cloth cabanas perched at the sea’s edge catching the trade winds! BERMUDA October 14-20, 2010 7 Days and 6 Nights on the beautiful, subtropical island in the midst of the Bermuda Triangle. What would be more exciting! The Bermuda package includes roundtrip airfare from SFO, lodging, meals, and diving. This can all be yours for only $2855.00* Non Diver in same Cabana as diver is $2350 Deposit of $1500 required by June 15, 2010. *Deposit not refundable once airfare/lodging are purchased. Frequent flyers miles are an option to reduce airfare. Balance of the fees is due by Aug 15, 2010. *Trip rates are subject to airline market rates. Lodging is based on double occupancy in Ocean Point Cabana. Cabana upgrades are available. 2 meals per day included in package Shorter trips are available for less $. 5 days of diving – four 2-tank boat and unlimited shore dives Dive historical wrecks to artificial reefs. Historical wrecks range from the remains of Spanish galleons sunk in the 1600s to huge ocean liners sunk in the last century. The Coast Guard ship, Hermes is upright, intact and at 75’; L’Hermine, the 60-gun French warship; the deep wrecks are the Xing Da, Deep Canyon and Heinz Baked Beans at 110’. Bermuda’s wrecks are protected by law, no removal of artifacts. The reefs feature caves and tunnels, shallow or deep. Sites like Blue Hole, Smuggler’s Notch and Basilica offer chances to swim with rays, black groupers, barracudas and even hawksbill turtles. Keep your eyes on the blue water for ocean blue or reef sharks. Most sites are between 30’ and 90’ depth. *Dive sites vary and are dependent on weather conditions. Water temperature ranges 70 to 78 degrees F with 90+ foot visibility on most days. 7 or 5 mm suit is perfect or 3mm suit with a vest. We have special lodging accommodations through 9 Beaches Resort. This 18 acre resort on the western tip is 18 miles from the airport. Your Ocean Point cabana sits on the island’s edge and has ocean views. You can upgrade your accommodations to a cabana perched over the sea, with a plexi-glass panel in the floor revealing the subtropical fish swimming below. Each cabana has a private veranda to enjoy the evening breezes. See Sharon for more information about the cabanas. 9 Beaches has 3 restaurants, pool, tennis court, fitness center, sundries shop and dive center on site. The meal package includes breakfast and supper per day. There is a snack cart roaming the resort that you may summons for snacks as well. Bermuda doesn’t rent cars to tourists. So that means we use the taxis or public buses. We can ride a mountain bike or rent motor scooters but remember to drive on the left. The Island offers great topside activities. Relax at the seas edge, stroll one of the 9 lapping beaches, a dip in the pool or snorkel out to the HMS Vixen. Visit the Crystal Caves – limestone caverns at Bailey’s Bay. Ride a scooter around the island or to South Hampton for a bit of shopping. Plan an excursion to the U/W Exploration Institute or the Maritime Museum. Bermuda is a British Territory located in the Atlantic Ocean 545 miles east of South Carolina. It is a small, sub tropical region encompassing 138 coral islands and inlets, with low hills and beautiful ocean views. The top side temps are 60s to high 70s. Bermuda time is Atlantic time, 1 hour ahead of EST. You will need your passport. One Bermudian $ is equal to $1 US. Credit cards ok too. Bermuda is one of the more affluent islands so bring a little extra spending cash. Other great information: • The Climate ranges 60-75 degrees F throughout the year. The rainy months are Sep – Dec. • The Bermuda practices insect abatement but be on the safe side, bring your insect repellant. You are in a sub-tropical region. • The Bermuda is a parliamentary British overseas territory and English is the primary language. • A passport is required. Bring your c cards too. • You can check 2-50 lb bags and 1 carry-on. The airline is strict about the weight limits per bag. Fees for checked baggage apply. • The currency exchange rate is equal to the US dollar • US citizens are allowed $100 duty-free exemption. Duty is 20% for items exceeding the exemptions.
