Want to hear more…

Visit the USS Indra. This landing craft repair ship was sunk in 1992 as part of the Artificial Reef Program. She is 328 ft long and built in 1945. She served in WWII, based in FL and CA, later off China and Vietnam. This intact ship sits in 30-60 fsw and is easy to navigate. Last time, divers found a gear assembly. She’s home to barracuda, amberjacks, toadfish, and lobster.

A bit farther out is the Papoose. This WWII tanker sank in 1942, torpedoed by U-124. She’s 412 feet and lies in 120 feet of water. This large wreck sits on the bottom intact but upside down due to adjustments by storms. Her flat keel rises to 85 feet from the surface. The Papoose can be penetrated at several points – diver beware. She is home to the Atlantic sand tiger shark, stingrays and amberjacks. The sand tigers offer great photo opportunities along with fascination.

Visit the U-352. This German Submarine is unquestionably the most popular wreck dive. In 1942 she attacked the US Coast Guard Cutter Icarus. Her torpedo exploded prematurely, which revealed her presence and led to her demise. Thirteen German sailors lost their lives in the battle and remain in the wreck today. The sub lies in 115 fsw upright, listing 40 degrees to starboard. While most of the outer hull has rusted away, the hull remains intact. Penetration dives are met with a silt-filled, tight interior. Last year, divers found a German radioman headset. What a find!

Dive the Naeco. About 35 miles off shore, the Naeco is in two sections resting 2.5 miles apart in 140 fsw. The stern is the pristine section to dive. Many hull plates have collapsed outward exposing the engine. Forward of the engine offers many brass tees, elbows and valves. And salvaging items to share with others is permitted. Amazing is the marine life, swimming with sand sharks, pairs of queen angelfish and lionfish! Yes, like in the South Pacific. We’ll plan to visit the Naeco.

Don’t miss this great opportunity. Join us for the fun!
